We’re excited to welcome Sol Chen, co-founder of Clara Health, and Lilly Stairs, Head of Patient Advocacy at Clara, to host our next #WTFix Wednesday tweet chat! Together, these two amazing women are working to connect patients to clinical trials and empower them with the knowledge they need to make informed treatment decisions…and it all started with a flyer.

Sol was inspired to found Clara when on her way to class at Brown University, she saw a flyer recruiting for a breast cancer clinical trial. She knew how devastating the disease was and thought,

“How can a patient feel empowered to make treatment decision when that info is coming from a flyer?”

Sol was confident she wanted to change the clinical trials landscape but knew she couldn’t do it alone…especially without patients to guide the way. That’s when Sol and her co-founder Evan Ehrenberg hired Lilly to serve as the Head of Patient Advocacy. As a patient, Lilly can speak to how she previously did not feel empowered with the proper knowledge about clinical trials as a treatment option…and even feared them. Working together, they’ve built a platform designed revolutionize and demystify the clinical trials experience.

What will we be chatting about?

For this chat, we’re all about working together as a community to help change health care. As Lilly and Sol say, “we can’t empower patients alone. It takes a village.”

Together, Lilly and Sol are working to empower patients with the knowledge they need to make informed treatment decisions. It’s a theme that resonates across different facets of the health care system and by sharing their stories with the world, they hope to inspire others to work together to empower patients by the bedside, at appointments, in day to day life and countless other scenarios. So, #WTFix Community, let’s get together and chat about how we can work together to partner and make change in health care that empowers patients!
